@VoxDantes@LaBeets50 I do not get it with the bad art and bad architecture that seems to attach itself to former President Obama. It is awful! I am not partial to him but he deserves so much more than what has been created.
@ProfMJCleveland High Potential. Light and fun.
Will Trent. Endearing police solving not-so-endearing crimes.
Chicago Med. Does not have the two decades that Grey's Anatomy does, but it is hard to go wrong with Dick Wolfe productions.
My recollection is that Trayvon was struggling with family reconfigurations, and, being an adolescent with less than mature judgment, he went wandering through the neighborhood, perhaps observing residents through windows, and this not horrible, but a bit distressing, activity caused the 'neighborhood watch' fellow who fought with him to spring into action, resulting n Trayvon's death.
This was horrible.
More horrible still is faux hagiography.
Most horrible is that Trayvon did not live to have the chance to find out what might have been.
@allenanalysis These folks seem to be getting high on their own supply. Note to talking heads and "journalists:" you work for the corporation. It is not the other way around. Many, if not most of us, wish this were not true. But it is.
@LibOrNormal Things that make you go....hmmm. Would perform a quick calculation of how many times the government has lied to the people, and take it from there.
Sin isn't okey-doke because there is forgiveness available. That is stupid.
Sin separates us from God.
I was well into adulthood before I heard a cogent explanation of the prohibition against masturbation. The reason masturbation is sinful is because it is believed that your primary relationship should not be with yourself.
In any event, whatever captivates beyond all else can become idolatry. That did not make sense to me until I read Timothy Keller, Counterfeit Gods. Very well done. Our disordered attachments (Jesuit talk for sin), whether it is work, or money, or pleasure, or even relationships, when they distort and distract from a relationship with God, are not good for us. That is why. It is not because some ethereal Karen is going to chase us down with a strongly worded HR memorandum to set us straight. (At least I hope not. I would not survive that.)
