I spent years working 80-hour weeks as a logger in Northern Maine. Billionaire landowners tried to cut our wages. We filed 137 complaints with the Department of Labor. Every single one was denied.
We asked Susan Collins for help. She did nothing.
So 14 other loggers and I blocked the Canadian border crossing in St. Pamphile for a week in 1998.
That fight taught me something: nothing was going to change for working people unless we had a working class voice in the room. So I ran for the state legislature. There, I fought to lower prescription drug prices, passed universal school meals, protected union jobs, expanded rural health care, delivered property tax relief, and helped pass some of the strongest reproductive health protections in the country.
Now Iβm running for U.S. Senate because Iβm tired of watching working families get squeezed while the wealthiest keep getting more. Working Mainers deserve a fighter in Washington. Itβs time to put power back in the hands of the people.
