Hi @YouTube — I’m reaching out regarding a long-standing issue with my channel following a major security breach roughly three years ago. At that time, the channel was hijacked and used to run a Bitcoin scam livestream for over a day before YouTube intervened and restored access. I’m grateful for that recovery support.
However, since that incident, the channel’s reach and impressions have never returned to previous levels. Prior to the hack, our videos consistently performed very well organically. Over the past three years, I’ve tried everything within YouTube’s guidelines—consistent uploads, format changes, improved thumbnails/titles, audience retention work—but nothing has meaningfully restored impressions or discovery, even though the same content performs extremely well on other platforms.
Our channel documents real-world searches for missing people and supports families through a nonprofit effort that relies heavily on YouTube exposure to continue operating. I’m not asking for algorithm details—only whether there’s any way the channel could be reviewed to ensure there are no lingering trust, safety, or quality flags related to the hijack that may still be affecting distribution.
If there’s anything that needs to be addressed on our end, or any insight you can provide, it would mean a great deal—not just for the channel, but for the families we’re trying to help. My channel is https://t.co/l3KBJKRwMV
Thank you for your time and consideration.
