Members of the soccer community in the New York area established the 911 New York Soccer Foundation to help families of victims. The Foundationβs fundraiser in Fall 2001 raised more than $700,000 through raffles, concessions, and auctioned items like this jersey, signed and donated to the cause by Manchester United star David Beckman.
This jersey is now part of βThe Worldβs Game: Soccer and 9/11β at the #911Museum, which explores how soccer brought people together after 9/11.
