As if a burning bush. Flames
Flicker life from ashes
In the darkness surrounding
Darkness. Surrounding
Me.
Standing in the emptiness,
You.
Love becomes you.
Warmth.
And the embers reach
Me.
Touched by
Silence.
Cash: it's what the President tells us is great about America: it's the economy, he says.
Well, Sir, here's a man with your middle name: John. Listen to America's Greatness in this moment.
I give you Johnny Cash: https://t.co/kwRoNxpEdY
When people ask me how I, as a Jew, can support @AbdulElSayed, it’s bc nothing is more dangerous to religious minorities in the U.S. than the creation of a state religion. Mike Rogers will confirm judges hellbent on destroying any separation of church & state. Abdul will not,
It's the not-quite-obvious that frustrates me.
Something in my mind "clicks" with a pattern not yet defined yet I struggle to cognitively identify what it is. The "so obvious" things comfort; the Rubic's Cubism jostling for priority have their way.
Sadly, busyness is the thief of concentration needed to let the not-so intuitive percolate to awareness.
Or maybe, I'm just not that...no! I won't allow it. :-)
I suggest it's neither. Significance detracts regardless of the number in its achievement. A means to an end. The end? Belonging.
Belonging saturates experience. Depending on, say, Maslow's hierarchy; need demands response; response demands experience; experience demands "xpreshenz".
Xpreshenz become the reciprocal dynamic. Self worth based on self identity create an "onlyness" by validation. Validation without emptiness. Loneliness is emptiness.
What is the absence of belonging then?
Abandonment.
Attribution; recognition; definition. None require persons beyond Self.
In Search of Meaning, said Frankl.
Being by yourself changes if there's a recognition of Self beyond the hierarchies we assume ourselves to inhabit.
Nomads for attachment to feed ourselves or our Self.
Onward, to onlyiness, I say. Belong to one's Self becomes the significance.
I could (very well) be wrong in this. Simply offering a different take on the original question. The variables in significance argue that the question as asked point to secondary effects. This post is only "sit around the table" fodder from considering the options other than the either/or.
...or 220. I drove one for a summer as a way to pay for my next year of college. In the LA metro area. Bulk cement with two trailers. Hauled from Victorville, over the "hill" to the freeways of San Bernadino, Long Beach, and out to Tehachapi once in a while. No air conditioning, holes in the floor for the two stick trannie (4x4) and the summer desert. 15 to 18 mph up the hills.
Fun times. New definition of fun!
@Sureshotsmokey@VoicesfromNam Did he "work" Marble Mountain"? My best friend's a navy corpsman, too. Papa Smokes were his guys. '70. "Twig" was the nickname.
@atrupar There's lower things - think Dante's Inferno - but leveraging his god to elevate his status belittles both.
Democracy does not require theocracy.
