I am,in a title 1 school. B/c of the new laws, most districts in our state are bypassing the the allowance of classroom libraries UNLESS we jump through a tremendous amount of hoops to have those books available. 22 years in and I am baffled by this.
100% agreed!! Teaching practices NEED to be different. We as the educators MUST learn what needs must bridge the gap. The COVID gap has to be addressed more extensively. The level of cognitive development and physical development must be realigned to the current reality.
I like this message for a new school year....We need to prepare students for their future ..not our past.... If we view education in exactly the same way we did 10 years ago, weβre not doing what kids need.

So true!!! Whole body education. Play begets social interaction, which begets collaboration, which begets communication, which begets learning!! Plus, who doesnβt like to swing?π
Anyone who doesn't think children need time for recess, play, and to socialize, doesnβt understand how children learn, and shouldn't be making decisions about how they learn.
