@benharder @usnews All of the described changes in the methodologies seem worthy to me. Congratulations on moving the stakes down the field. I am concerned about the conversion of survival to an ordinal scale of 1 to 10; a casual user could be forgiven for assuming that a 1 is best and a 10 worst.

@benharder @barbfederostrov @KHNews @usnews Not to put an unduly positive spin on the numbers--no community wants to lose its hospital--this represents an annual shutter rate of less than half of 1 percent. Many of these hospitals are ineptly run. Should they be propped up? What's the answer?

@benharder @MWFriedberg @USNewsHealth Insufficient volume, affirmation bias, gaming by physicians... Other than for a handful of doctors with very large response volumes to well-crafted surveys, reviews are as likely to mislead as to inform. That's my bias. YMMV.
