They were 5great at flying, probably carnivores.
The pouch on the throat was probably used to store prey, or possibly for communication!

Pteroplax was an eel-like reptiliomorph from Carboniferous Europe. They had tiny limbs, & webbed feet on their hindlegs. However, they mostly used their tail for movement.

It’s funny that mosasaurs and pliosaurs frequently get over exaggerated in size when it was really the ichthyosaurs who were the largest of the #marine#reptiles!
Look just how impressive and varied these guys were!

A large carnivorous bird, native to North America & lived ~ 5 - 2 million years ago.
Perhaps it wasn’t as scary as the Elephant Bird, but it is definitely a bird you wouldn’t want to run into!

Most likely it's a “missing link” between dinosaurs and birds and was in a transitional form.
