@austinenergy @downtownatx @BOMAaustin Moving into hour 30 without heat since 2am Monday (2/15) - a bit of ice is on the *inside* of my window panes which means it’s at least freezing temps inside my apartment. My kitten seems fine for now. I’m not doing great. An estimate is the least you can do for us.

I think what people not in southern states fail to understand is that houses in places where I (and many with lower temp winters) grew up come with a lot more insulation. The houses and apartments here just aren’t built the same. #austinenergy

It just feels gross to see people with no compassion in a difficult time. Most Austin houses and apartments use electric, not gas, and don’t have fireplaces. I just feel really bad seeing people enjoying this.

@austinenergy All I want to know is...who’s we?! Because “we” doesn’t include the mouthpieces chilling on Facebook Live when 200k of us are going without for going on 12 hours (some more). I’d love to know more about actions being taken by the electric companies and @ERCOT_ISO

@austinenergy Update: I’m back in my apartment and happy to say that my lights are on. For now. Slowly trying to warm up the place to prep for tonight - I’m not even hoping my power lasts through the night. I have zero faith that I’ll make it through the weekend warm. And that’s a shame.

@austinenergy I managed to make it to a coworker’s house - I’ll be going home in a couple hours and I don’t know what I’ll find there. The site says I will come home to a warm apartment. But the site has been so wrong so many times that I have literally no idea. @austinenergy

@JaayAlbaa @austinenergy I agree about the political agenda thing but don’t throw the term Karen around to describe people going without heat in freezing weather worried about their health and safety. That’s so disrespectful. No one is coming for the crews at work.
