As Darth Vader, he gave cinema one of its most commanding and unforgettable villains. As Mufasa, he brought warmth, wisdom, dignity, and fatherly love to one of Disney’s most beloved characters.
But his extraordinary legacy extended far beyond voice acting. Across more than six decades in film, television, and theatre, Jones portrayed everything from kings and warriors to writers, military officers, fathers, and ordinary men. His remarkable career earned him two Tony Awards, two Emmys, a Grammy, an honorary Oscar, and a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement.
