Huge shout out to Eyedea's mother Kathy for making it out to my show last night in Minneapolis.

Last night’s show in Minneapolis was all about community. I have always admired @carnagetheexecutioner for how he engages with his community. This man was the first hip-hop artist I ever saw that successfully did tours where he played house shows and his fans helped him put it all together. So when we decided to do this show in an art space instead of a traditional bar/club/music venue I was down.

The event, a part of his new series, “Beyond the Bars”, where he puts on events outside of bars, was dope. One of the best parts of it was the fact that everybody there REALLY wanted to be there.

I had so many cool conversations with people at the merch table. And it really felt way different than any other show I’ve played in Minneapolis over the year. For everybody that made it out, you got a treat; a show that felt like a community and not just a performance. Older people and younger people. Nobody drinking. Nobody yelling or being obnoxious. Just a good ole night of music in a dope space for people who love music.

Thank you Minneapolis. Tonight we head to Superior and Sunday we’re in Fargo. If you’re in the area, I hope to see you there and go listen to my new album Vessel!
