In today’s education news… a 1/3 of children are starting school not school ready in buggies and nappies and covid is the main reason? But is covid really to blame over other issues?
@bphillipsonMP Having been teaching for 27 years,, I once again feel hope after 14 years. Please listen to the profession. It’s a privilege to teach and nurture young hearts and minds, but I’m tired of fighting a system that doesn’t meet the needs of children. Let’s be the change together ❤️
An inspection system shouldn't have this cost.
It's time for change now.
Change is long overdue.
Change will come too late for too many.
But change will benefit all those who devote their lives to childcare and education, and all the children they serve.

This was my headteacher when I walked out of school the other day. Due to delays and cuts. The idea of politicians telling her she ‘should’ be doing even more, without having any idea what she’s already doing, is ridiculous.

And it shows Ofsted are not fit for purpose, not a force for good and the reforms they’ve announced will not go anywhere near far enough. This isn’t an easy read.
