@welbyaltidor Sure. There are many "Abbey was bad" journal articles out there, but few about the actual books. To my knowledge, I read every journal article or book about Abbey ever written. I've visited the archives. I can give layered takes, but I studied literature for the literature.

@BookTheftGuy Thanks for the suggestion! I just finished rereading So Long, See You Tomorrow a couple days ago again by chance. Such a beautiful and moving work. I don't think there is a single superfluous sentence in the entire text

Uncanny how similar these two novellas are in themes, narration, and tone. They're even published only one year apart. I wonder if both writers read the other's work.

@welbyaltidor @TheAtlantic @Tyler_A_Harper Probably yeah, among others. I am an immigrant here myself (how's that for irony, joke's on them!). I studied Abbey because his writing is great. There's not much to be gained in highlighting the fact that a guy born in 1920s Appalachia didn't hold 2020s progressive views
