@mrmalvikscience I'll have the students sometimes solve problems twice, the second time using units only. Helps with emphasizing equivalent units. Perfect for Work-Energy Theorem. Most know units of energy are either Joules or cal from Chem, so very beneficial to build on that prior knowledge.

@plulai I don't have an EOC and my admin leaves me alone. I did it so I could try to find a way to teach AP1 (fluids) successfully next year to new physics students and finish with time to review. We can't rely on Ss already having mastered projectile motion, dynamics, and energy...

@plulai This year for conceptual physics, I started with teaching static fluids, moved to mechanical waves and sound, next up is light and optics. It's my first time doing it this way (17yrs exp.) and honestly it's great. I plan on hitting standard mechanics in the spring.

@TimBrzezinski Ask the T how the average student performed on 1-25 compared with 26-50, 51-75, and 76-100. If the performance is within +/- 2 questions, why was the additional practice necessary before an intervention or moving on to more challenging topics.

@sage_stage We can't negotiate our pay - we can negotiate our working conditions. # of preps, roaming, and every negative phone call home is a pay cut in my book and a reason to find a better (teaching) job. $1500 wouldn't be nearly enough since I plan on staying in the classroom.

@BarnettDreyfuss My C scores were good this year (100%pass) usually I have that one kid preventing 100%) even my percent 5s were similar to pre-pandemic. My AP1&2 scores were up last year (70% ), down this year (60%), and 5 rate for AP1&2 dropped precipitously. More 4s than ever in AP1.

@msruggerio I agree. Nothing offensively outside the scope, no major format issues, Form O FRQs lacked treatment of momentum (outside of a smidge of conversation of angular. I thought it was overall fair and within what a well prepared student was expecting.
