At no point have I ever been offered counseling from the NHS.
Counseling for NHS staff should be routine.

A plea for tv 'psychologists'/ 'mental health experts' to resist giving blanket advice about anxiety. A family member followed advice on how to breathe when anxious and it made symptoms worse. Properly qualified therapists and applied psychs tailor interventions to each person.
I am a counsellor, and hearing some colleagues speak, I feel the need to say: No, counselling is not the best option for everybody. If you don't want to seek help from a counsellor, or feel it wouldn't be helpful to you, you might be right about that. 1/n
I’m just saying... The imbalance of attention given to individuality in therapeutic practices means that connections to social, cultural, economic processes become fragmented and distorted, causing a sense of disconnection and isolation for the client.
