Some takeaways from me for WI Dem gov:

- Crowley still has a lot of work to do to unite the Dem base and build out campaign and fundraising infrastructure.

- Still, with the national environment as it is, he's the favorite to win in November, especially since Tom Tiffany is very far right. In Crowley, Dems are by far the more moderate option now.

- I bet WI Republicans are absolutely steaming. They had a dream chance and had probably put a lot of work into a Tiffany-Hong race. Totally upended.

- In Stevens and Crowley, there's still a significant portion of Dem voters who take electability seriously.

- DSA/progressives should take some solace here. At best, Hong was an extremely risky candidate. It's probably far better to win in MI and MN and keep electoral bona fides alive for 2028 than risk it all.

- Even if she had won, Hong is maybe not the candidate you want representing the first purple-state socialist governor run. We need a clean break from the 2020-woke era. It's a total stinker.

- There's a reason AOC and Bernie did not endorse Hong!

- If Crowley doesn't win, the base will be absolutely apoplectic, for good reason. There's now a lot riding on this for the establishment. That was Crowley's and Evers's entire promise.

- Progressives have clearly expanded their appeal in a lot of smaller towns and cities. We saw Hong win convincingly even in a lot of smaller urban cores.

- Still, rural voters and Black voters are providing moderate Dems and the establishment with a lifeline.

- WI GOP legislative candidates are strongly outraising Dem challengers atm. That needs to change soon. Both Crowley and WI Dems need a lot of money, fast.

- As a matter of pure political economy, Crowley should likely pivot on data centers. If Greg Abbott and Kathy Hochul share the same stance, they're probably right. In swing states, one does what one must.

- Invest in TV ads!
