@JustRed_69 @ChadMerzbach @BolsoverE @MPSStokeNewton It’s your choice to cycle, not pedestrians who you illegally share the footpath with. Cyclists justify riding on footpaths by saying it’s unsafe on the road, yet dismissive when it comes to pedestrian safety, just as car drivers are dismissive of cyclists concerns on the road.
@Adespoto3 @MPSStokeNewton It’s illegal for an adult to ride a bike on the pavement, hence police involvement. I’m all for safer roads for all but it shouldn’t be at the expense of safe pavements for pedestrians.
@theJeremyVine@MikeyCycling It’s also illegal for an adult to be cycling on the pavement. Guess pedestrians are just collateral damage to cyclists. On the walk to school each day we are having to dodge adults on bikes travelling at speed on the pavements. But let’s demonise car drivers.
We’ve got our hands on the new 2022-23 home shirt to give away. (Winner picks their size). Give us a retweet and a follow and we will pick a random winner Friday night! #efc#EvertonFC#Competition
@SteveCochran64 Have we seen a reduction in vehicle ownership within low traffic neighbourhoods or do they just push traffic onto other areas? I don’t know if any research has been done. Queens Promenade is a positive but Seething Wells is the counter balance.
@PaulCra33107260@SteveCochran64@KingstonCycling As I’ve been blocked from RCD Mitchum’s tweets before I could reply, the walk to school takes 15 mins each way AM and PM so an hour a day and naturally you see things out and about on your doorstep. RCD Mitchum’s actions speak directly to the arrogance of some cyclists.
@PaulCra33107260@SteveCochran64@KingstonCycling It’s hard to not remember grown adults wearing a crash helmet as they speed towards you on the pavement while you walk you children to school. Some even swear aa they pass for not getting out the way.
@RossLydall Do you also want to share the costs to park non electric /hybrid vehicles that are classed medium to large. I suspect the price will rocket.
@RBKgreens If only you made as much effort to call out adults riding their cycle on the pavement. When will we stop this blind obsession across the borough that cyclists need to be prioritised.
@RBKgreens Since the cycle lane infrastructure has been implemented in Ewell Road the volume of stationary traffic has increased significantly. You smell the toxic fumes as you walk kids to school and dodge cyclists on the pavement. What is being done for those walking, I hear very little.
@RBKgreens I don’t disagree but pedestrians are being marginalised. Reality is cyclists now have right of way on the road and a cycle lane infrastructure but still choose to put pedestrians at risk by using the pavement. Is walking not also a form of active travel to be safeguarded?
Ticked one off the bucket list today and completed the Virtual London Marathon. Been talking about doing it for way too long, really enjoyed it, but I might give next year a miss.
