BREAKING: Ole Miss and Charlotte have announced intentions to form their own conference, university representatives have told @espn
The newly formed conference will be known as “The Big 2”
An initial $600m bid for membership from Memphis has been rejected, I’m told.
@themizdom@BrandonPerna Dawg I can’t be sure that you aren’t a member of a child eating world controlling cabal. Have you collected the research to rule my hyphothesis out? You can’t prove a negative in cases like this. It’s ridiculous and shows a childlike lack of understanding of the world.
DOGE famously used keyword searches for terms like "climate" to terminate federal grants.
Among the victims: a collab between USAID and NASA for flood prediction, early warning, disaster readiness, glacier inventories, and mapping dangerous glacial lakes...

AI detection is useful, not because AI text is necessarily bad, but rather, because it requires little effort to produce. So it doesn’t carry evidence that the person who produced it thought it was worth writing—you don’t get a signal of quality until after you read it.
Seeing some leftists mad at this and it’s like, do you actually want to build a mass movement that appeals to millions of people or do you want a book club where we jerk each other off
@littmath As to what the architectural blocker is? My thought would be something like a model with self updating weights, with a capacity to change. Again, that’s an abstraction of consciousness. I see no reason why this can’t be achieved someday, but many breakthoughs may be needed first.
@littmath That’s an abstraction of a lack of consciousness in a way, but that to me is an important reason for lack of auto research capability. Only the next token matters.
@mdv483 USF’s guard defense compared to y’all’s is like comparing varsity to JV can’t lie, barely had to work for anything outside the arc against yall.
@westsidephilos1@CurtisEyiogbe@BrianSuttererMD Nah it’s science based. Best way to think about it is it’s similar to massaging muscle knots, you just do it from a needle inside the knot itself. Can also be done with electrical stimulation to contract the muscle. Have had it a bunch of times in PT and it works great.
