To everyone that feels hurt, upset, confused by the results of this election. Threatened by the policies of the incoming administration. Afraid for the future of this country I am telling you this; the nu metal agenda belongs to you.
This is a genre founded on the eager integration of historically black forms of popular music into typically white strains of rock and metal, not as trendy gimmicks but from a place of respect.
This is a genre of songs about deep personal pain, suicide and loss. Being the little guy, the bullied, the tormented. About not knowing who you are or who you’re supposed to be.
This is a genre that strides forward into the future rather than linger on the past, meeting new cultural changes as a challenge to be taken on, not mocked or scorned.
This is a movement that says you can do it too. Anyone with the desire to make music can make music, no matter how ungifted or unremarkable you might think you are, and be heard.
The nu metal agenda belongs to you. It doesn’t belong to anyone that would seek to trample on your rights or freedoms. It doesn’t belong to anyone that would deport you, lock you in cages, or brutalize you for your gender.
Throughout history the most important works of art come from those under siege for they’re the ones who cry out the loudest. As long as I am here you will always have an ear, I am by your side.
The nu metal agenda is yours, I’m simply here to listen.
Thank you.
Holiday Kirk.
When going into the election booth, remember these wise words from Jonathan Davis of Korn:
“You not ooh rah dah en dahp ooh rah daht endaht en dik ah poo ra ta teek a poo rah doo rah do dik oh mumblio dah dah dosa pa errah sa dey.”

To protect abortion rights in NE, vote no on initiative 434 and YES on 439. 439 is the only one that protects the right to abortion.
