@HabsChronicle What even is a top prospect if not one of Hage and Reinbacher? Those are the only other too prospects they have. Is Engstrom considered a top prospect? Surely the word top prospect is being used liberally here if the only top prospects they have aren't included.
@NCloutierTVA I wonder if the players who would look at that unfavorably would then automatically reject any offers from Vegas? Or is it just another double standard MTL has to deal with?
@mndamico I really wish Parayko would come east. He's exactly what the Habs need. Big rangey defensive minite munching RHD. I just wish he was a couple years younger.
@ivandemigoal@PuckReportNHL Don't read to much into it. Bias will always play a major factor. Just for context, someone had voted Panarin in the top 5 for Selke voting awhile back. Their reasoning? He was so good in the OZ that it meant he didn't have to play the DZ as much.... SMH
@Rontzeeez Its sucks because two things can be right at the same time. Thomas would be an insane add and likely the best player the habs would acquire since like the 90's. Also wanting to see how good Hage, Reinbacher and the other prospects get is valid too. Both are right answers here.
@HabsChronicle Has to be Laine. He simply doesn't have a spot on the Habs anymore. Even if it's 50% retained for nothing other than future considerations, liberating the roster spot and 4.5M will still be worth it.
@ADiMarco25 There is also a different conclusion. There is no good comparison. Not one that really applies to the situation well enough. Probably the Jones to CHI trade.
Eichel trade was muddied because of the surgery concern so I do think its doesn't quite compare correctly.
@NicolasTrembl20@ivandemigoal If they lost the draw its a moot point as Caufield would have had to defend just as much as Veleno would have and both guys would have changed once they got possession again. I have to think MSL wanted a second faceoff guy there for a reason. Maybe Suzuki was a little gas'd, etc.
@ivandemigoal Winning a face off is like the most important thing in OT outside if scoring. You win a face-off and the other team may never even touch the puck again after that.
@the_habitant Trading one injury prone player for another injury prone player, isnt a solution. It's only creating the same problem in a different position.
If you want to move Reinbacher, rehab him and bring up his value first and then move him in package for a true established 2C.
@the_habitant Robert Thomas is a pipe dream. The cost would be without a doubt a piece that you would not be willing to part with. Picks an prospects aren't going to cut it.
@MarcPDumont He's done that twice this year and it's cost the team. MSL needs to have a talk with him. Cant keep whining about missed calls all the time.
@mijolind @AZadarski In my honest opinion and I know it's the harsh truth but I dont think it's that he cant catch a break anymore. It's that he's just become officially injury prone. No amount of training is going to get him through a full season anymore.
