George Müller leu a Bíblia por mais de 200 vezes, sendo 50 de joelhos e antes de sua morte, quando perguntado por um repórter o que gostaria de fazer ainda, ele, de joelhos, respondeu: “Ler mais a Bíblia, pois conheço pouco ainda, da excelência de Cristo”.

Müller fundou vários orfanatos, e cuidou de mais de 10.000 crianças órfãs, baseado na promessa de Deus do Salmo 68:5 “Deus é pai dos órfãos”.

Seus seguidores contam histórias interessantes sobre ele. Entre elas, uma quando Müller estava orando em seu quarto, e sua fama já era notória. A rainha da Inglaterra foi à sua casa, e sua empregada bateu na porta de seu quarto e disse: “Sr. Müller a rainha está na sala, querendo lhe falar”. E ele respondeu: “diga a Senhora Rainha que agora não posso, pois estou falando com Rei dos Reis e não vou atendê-la”.

Em outra oportunidade, o seu orfanato amanheceu sem nenhum alimento para os mais de 1000 órfãos naquela ocasião. E o desespero tomou conta de todos os funcionários, mas Müller disse: Não peço nada ao homem, minha aliança é com Deus. Entrou em seu quarto e orou: “Pai dos órfãos, falta pão. Em nome de Jesus. Amém”. Passado alguns minutos, várias carroças com pães passaram na porta do orfanato e o chefe que a conduzia disse: “Sr. Müller fomos entregar estes pães para a família real, no castelo, e eles disseram que os pães estavam muito assados e por isto para não jogar, resolvemos dar para o orfanato”. Müller disse: “não foi os pães que passaram do ponto, mas Deus que atendeu nossa oração e teve misericórdia de nós”.

Müller foi um grande evangelista. Teve uma comunhão invejável com Cristo e provou por inúmeras vezes o poder da oração com fé. Müller tinha um caderno, onde anotara mais de 50.000 orações que foram respondidas por Deus. Lembremos de que quando vivemos na dependência de Deus, Ele mesmo cria circunstância favorável ao nosso favor.
