@praeclarum Basically queries that had JOINs between 3 tables + some WHERE clauses. Changing one of the JOINs to an additional WHERE clause with IN subselect also helped. So it must have been specific to the anatomy of that query with 3 JOINs.

We‘re noticing that the same SQL-Query with sqlite-net-pcl executes more than 10 times slower starting with iOS 17.2 in a Xamarin.Forms app. Is anyone familiar with that?

Well, I did not expect this to be a bug in a newer SQLite version where this specific query was taking way longer than normal.
Fortunately the SQLitePCL packages are well thought out and allow us to use a specific SQLite provider 🚀

Looks like the iOS versions use different SQLite versions

iOS 16.4: 3.39.5
iOS 17.4: 3.43.2

Ran the same query against the same database within the same app using https://t.co/l0NwQ1Y3x4.Sqlite and am seeing the exact same issue.

iOS 16.4 ~5 seconds
iOS 17.2 over 1 minute

So it's not related to sqlite-net.pcl.

It wasn’t perfect in XF either, but at least you could get it to work somehow.
With the current implementation in MAUI though I don’t think there currently is a viable workaround.
Well, one can only hope that it gets fixed soon.
