growing up in Indonesia taught me that our differences don’t divide us. they give us more reasons to understand, embrace, and love one another. as indonesians say, “bhinneka tunggal ika,” which means unity in diversity.

indonesia taught me love.

the people around me in Indonesia have always been kind and grounded. they taught me that no matter how far you go, how amazing the things you accomplish are, staying humble is what keeps you happy and grounded.

indonesia taught me humility.

the situation there is quite unfortunate right now. i hope the 81st can treat all of us better.
