Most people sketch out a system on a whiteboard first, then translate that sketch into code somewhere else entirely.

A builder skipped that translation step by having Claude Fable 5 generate the architecture straight into an Obsidian Canvas.

Each block on the canvas represents a real part of the system, ideation, drafts, trackers, all connected with labeled edges showing how data actually moves.

Nothing on the canvas is decorative, every node points to a real file sitting in the vault behind it.

Open Printer je otevřená kompaktní tiskárna od Open Tools. Brzy by měla být spuštěna kampaň na její podporu na Crowd Supply. Současně by měly být uvolněny zdrojové kódy. Postavena je na Raspberry Pi Zero W a STM32. Používá inkoustové kazety HP 302.

Thoughts after a few hours of playing with Steam Machine.

- 3D performance is just…meh.
- The system recommends to default to 1080p - am I going back to PS4 days?
- Some games take a looooooong time to boot, what is it doing?
- System UI is easy to use.
- Being able to boot up by pressing a button on Steam Controller is a killer feature.
- Changeable face plate is nice.
- Random boot up videos is a nice touch :)
- Sticks on Steam Controller is a bit looser than my taste.
- Having touch pad is nice, but it is very “touchy” and hard to use.
- It allows me to play Steam games on my living room TV, which is a reason enough to keep it.
- But the price was very unfriendly. Hard to recommend to people unless for research.

Two months ago I was fired by Google for creating the Google Workspace CLI. It went viral, hit #1 on Hacker News, gained thousands of GitHub stars and many thousands of actual users in just a couple days.

It was an incredible, confusing journey, from directors and leaders asking what they could learn from the tool to getting grilled by legal about why the Google logo and brand colors are on the Google Workspace GitHub code repositories.

I think the cause was that Workspace and certain leaders (and projects) were afraid of being disrupted. But the fear wasn't specific to my CLI, it was a broader fear in what agents meant for Workspace. Either way, the irony of my termination was the announcement at Google Cloud Next two days before I was fired that an official Workspace CLI was coming.

I want this out there because it is easier for me to explain my story and it is an experience I want to fully own. It's also part of my healing.

Nearly 7 years at Google was an incredible opportunity for me and I was fortunate to have wonderful teammates and a manager that fully supported me through these last few months. Thank you.

Ancient Theatre of Taormina (Teatro antico di Taormina), an ancient Greek Theatre in Taormina, Sicily, Italy 🇮🇹. It was initially built by Greeks in the 3rd Century BC, before being rebuilt and enlarged by the Romans. While known as an amphitheatre, the site is actually an ancient theatre, not the gladiatorial arena of the type normally meant by the term. As well as being a major draw for tourists to the city, today the theatre continues to be used for concerts, plays and other events.

Ancient Greeks inhabited Sicily from 750 BC, establishing many significant settlements on the island to make use of Sicily’s fertile soil and advantageous trading location. Around 3rd Century BC, at the time of Hiero II, Greeks dug directly into the hard rock of Mount Taro to construct a theatre, removing around 100,00 cubic metres of rock. Large columns would have been hauled up the mountain by slaves to encircle the stage.

Greek Theatre, was designed to accommodate dramatic or musical performances and so included an orchestra at the lowest levels of the theatre and a large scene where actors or dancers would perform. The cavea or auditorium steps and seats, were designed so all 5400 spectators could hear wherever they sat. Later, under Roman rule, the theatre was rebuilt, probably around the time of Hadrian or Trajan. It was remodelled in 3rd Century AD, with the orchestra turned into an arena and the stage removed. The theatre had a diameter of 107m and could hold around 10,000 spectators. It become one of oldest theatres in Magna Graeca to have curved cavea, rather than the older trapezoidal design. The cavea were divided into nine sections. On either side of the skene was a basilica. Taormina’s theatre became part of the natural landscape; the light and splendid Calabrian coastal scenery providing a natural backdrop to performances. Remains of another Hellenistic building have been found under the Roman cavea.

After Punic Wars, Romans annexed Sicily, forcing out Carthaginians. While Sicily remained largely Greek culturally, Roman settlers expanded the theatre and shifted its function to reflect Roman entertainment; gladiatorial games. Romans expanded the orchestra, as well as adding columns, statues and covers. During Middle Ages, the grand Corinthian style columns were removed to adorn palaces and places of worship, including the Cathedral.

Today, over 2 millennia later, the Taormina Amphitheatre remains a social space for watching performances. Today, theatre is used as a venue for the annual arts festival Taormina Arte, other entertainment offered includes theatre, concerts, symphonies, operas, ballets and the David di Donatell awards have all been held within the ancient auditorium.

The modern seating has had a mixed response, but allows this fantastic site that has weathered the ravages of time to continue functioning as was originally intended. Be aware the site is not very accessible for those who cannot climb easily. However, those who visit are rewarded with spectacular views of Mount Etna.

Quando Oliver Hardy morì nel 1957, Stan Laurel era troppo malato per partecipare al funerale.
Mandò solo un messaggio, poche parole, ma immense: “Babe capirebbe.”
E da quel giorno, non salì mai più su un palco.
Per oltre trent’anni erano stati inseparabili.
Insieme facevano ridere il mondo intero.
Da soli… non era più la stessa cosa.

Venivano da due mondi opposti.
Stan dall’Inghilterra, Oliver dal sud degli Stati Uniti.
Due strade lontane, destinate però a incrociarsi e a creare qualcosa che nessuno aveva mai visto prima.

Stan aveva iniziato nei teatri, tra musica e comicità.
Per un periodo lavorò persino con Charlie Chaplin. Oliver, invece, stava dall’altra parte dello schermo: proiettava film in un cinema e osservava gli attori, pensando tra sé: “Posso farlo anche io.”
E aveva ragione.
Si incontrarono a Hollywood quasi per caso. E il loro duo nacque da un imprevisto.
Un giorno Oliver si fece male e non poté girare una scena. Al suo posto chiamarono Stan.
Qualcuno, dietro le quinte, si accorse subito di qualcosa. Non era solo una coppia che funzionava. Era naturale. Era chimica pura. Era magia.
Stan era l’ingenuo, sempre un passo indietro rispetto al mondo.
Oliver il capo sicuro di sé… almeno finché tutto non gli sfuggiva di mano.
E quello sguardo in camera, lento, rassegnato, è diventato leggenda. Ma lontano dai riflettori, la verità era un’altra.
Era Stan a costruire tutto. Scriveva, immaginava, perfezionava ogni dettaglio.
Oliver si fidava ciecamente di lui. Diversi, sì. Ma perfettamente complementari.
Più di cento film. Un Oscar. Teatri pieni solo per vederli entrare in scena.
Poi, come sempre, arriva il tempo. La carriera rallenta. La salute si incrina.
E nel 1957 Oliver se ne va. Stan resta.
Ma non è più lo stesso. Rifiuta ogni proposta. Smette di recitare. Perché alcune storie non possono continuare da sole.
Nel 1961 riceve un Oscar alla carriera. Un riconoscimento enorme.
Ma accanto a lui… manca la metà. E forse è proprio questo il punto. Non il successo. Non i premi. Ma chi hai vicino mentre li vivi.
Stan Laurel ha passato il resto della sua vita a fare una sola cosa: non lasciare che il mondo dimenticasse il suo amico.
Perché la loro non era solo comicità. Era amicizia.
Quella vera. Quella che non si spegne quando cala il sipario.
E forse, alla fine, è questo che resta davvero: non le risate, non gli applausi… ma qualcuno che, anche nel silenzio, continuerebbe a dire di te: “Lui capirebbe.”
