Marriages are folding like a pack of cards lately
Today, it is reportedly Governor Adeleke's son Sina (Rambo) Adeleke and his wife Dagmara Heidi Korth
They've partied ways over irreconcilable differences
@chrisgreatc Once they become controlling and over protective, some people may mistake it for love but it's not
Just be on the lookout for strange behavior
My cousin's best friend, Bisi, is the one who taught me this.
When Bisi started dating this guy, Femi, we were all happy for her. Femi was caring, at first. Too caring. "Who is that guy that dropped you at home?" "Why is your friend calling you by 10pm?" "Your sister is influencing you too much, you should reduce how you talk to her."
Bisi thought it was love. She thought he was protective.
First, it was her friends.
He picked a fight with her closest friend, Tola. Said Tola is too wild, she will spoil her. So Bisi stopped going out with Tola. Then her other friend, Nene. He said Nene is jealous of their relationship. So Bisi stopped picking Nene's calls. Small small, the group chat that used to buzz every day went silent.
Then it was family.
When Bisi's elder sister visited from Ibadan, Femi refused to greet her well. Later he told Bisi, "Your sister doesn't respect me, she didn't even stand up when I entered. I don't want her coming here again." Bisi, to keep peace, told her sister "Don't worry, next time."
Christmas that year, Bisi didn't go home. Femi said "Let's have our own Christmas, just us. Your family is too controlling."
Within 8 months, Bisi was completely alone.
No friends checking on her. No sister to call. No mother, because Femi told her "Your mum complains too much about us."
And that's when the playbook entered stage two.
He would insult her and then say "You're imagining things, I never said that."
He would break her phone and say "You fell and broke it yourself, you are clumsy."
He would keep her indoors for days and tell her "You're lucky I love you, no one else would tolerate you."
And there was no witness. No Tola to say "Bisi, this is not normal." No sister to say "Come home first." No one to call.
She told me later, "I was standing in the middle of an empty room I didn't even notice was getting empty. By the time I needed help, I had no one left to call."
She escaped because one day Tola stubbornly showed up at her gate unannounced. Tola saw her, thin, quiet, flinching at every loud voice, and refused to leave. Tola dragged her out.
Every abuser uses the same manual. First they isolate you. Then they fight your family. Then they shrink your world until it's just you and them. Why? Because abuse needs privacy. It needs no witnesses. Once everyone leaves, they can rewrite reality and tell you "Nobody loves you except me."
Please, never let anyone shrink your world to just them.
If someone is making you cut off your friends one by one, if they are making you enemies with your own family, if they get angry when someone else checks on you, that's not love. That's preparation.
Real love expands your world. It does not lock you inside theirs.
If your government doesn’t invest in housing projects, rents are going to keep soaring.
There’s absolutely nothing they can do to regulate private housing
They tax us, yet still won’t provide affordable housing, but they want to go and regulate private investment.

Cheers to everyone and have an amazing Friday .
Be kind to the “area boys” on your street. If you can, show them love whenever you get the chance. If you don’t have money or gifts to offer, just treat them with respect.
Don’t belittle them because you think you’re better than them.
