Can I be problematic and say that yes, K-pop was always inspired by western music, but it's not like Americans were releasing Roly Poly, The Chaser or Fantastic Baby. You know very well what we mean when we say: 'I miss when K-pop sounded like K-pop' and it's so annoying when ++
will always agree with the sentiment that kpop wears its western influences a little too visibly lol but around 2009 onwards there was period when kpop songwriting and production genuiely had the sonic ambition that surpassed anything it sought to copy and stand on its own
The one thing I canβt STAND about kpop is how companies will shit out a mini with a single and call it a day, that or perform a 2nd song on Inkigayo then hang it up. I feel like thereβs no focus on bodies of work, even if the albums good the focus isnβt there.
@gaydaerin conceptually, a video like TT, Zombie by Purple Kiss or Peek-a-boo give Halloween vibes. Sonically, something darker, through its melodies & lack of usual pop sounds, something like Girls by Nature, 28 Reasons, Because by Dreamcatcher or Wings by Pixy
Girlβs Worldβs Ara has revealed that she bet with their CEO that the groupβs upcoming comeback can reach 100 copies sold
It was said that if Girlβs World canβt sell 100 copies, then they probably wouldnβt have another comeback / schedules
#DOHWA has not been given any promotion over the past few years by her company. There are other contestants in the Top 7 that have active promotions and have been given schedules. Queendom Puzzle is Dohwa's last opportunity. If she does not make it, she has NOTHING to go back to.
