What actually makes people show up and care?
From our discussion last week, a collective wish emerged: to experiment with joy, curiosity, creativity, stories, memes and street art to break the inertia.

That's the seed we planted today applying the Imaginary Gardens framework. Our next output is a set of street posters that invites neighbors to share their most pressing needs + ideas for the urban space around them (quick, accessible, local-first).

A start rebuilding the social fabric by uncovering what lives in the hearts of those passing by.

We played Jardim de Imaginários, a DIY game where individual stories are planted and collective actions are harvested.

🌱 Seeds: each person shares a local discomfort or story of where coordination fails
🍃 Fruits: the group shapes one concrete intervention + reflects on where privacy vs transparency matters
☁️ Cloud: a visual + a public post documenting what emerged

At Rio de Janeiro Plural Event last week, we named a local democratic breakdown: collective apathy and a sense of powerlessness about the future.

People feel their discomforts don't matter. Individual frustrations stay invisible, instead of turning into shared knowledge or collective action.

Since January me and @douglascrypto have been hosting monthly @MetaMaskDev Community Builder Nights + Web3 Café in Rio 🇧🇷 This May, we joined communities from ~20 cities as part of the Plural Events series for a special evening, featuring:

🛡️ Facilitated discussion on privacy, Web3, self-custody and collective action
🥟 Traditional local esfihas and meaningful community connections
🧠 Ideation session on deliberative democracy using Web3, AI, and social technologies
🌍 Builders, artists, entrepreneurs and researchers getting inspired for action together

A strong gathering of local communities imagining and taking actions to build more participatory futures together ☕️🦊
