Earlier today, I launched the Jigawa State Old Age Social Protection Scheme. This scheme completes our journey toward full life-cycle social protection in Jigawa. From pregnancy and childhood to youth and now old age, we’ve built a system that walks with our people through every stage of life — making sure no one is ever left behind.

Through this new scheme, 5,740 elderly citizens across all 287 political wards will receive monthly cash support, free healthcare under JICHMA, and continued social care through the Ministry of Women Affairs. This is about dignity, compassion, and respect for those who built the foundation of our communities.

We’ve strengthened our support for mothers, children, and persons with disabilities, and a new welfare programme for orphans is on the way. Because to me, every Jigawa life counts, and together, we’re building a state that protects, uplifts, and cares for every generation.
