🔸On a separate note, I firmly believe that as African women, we must always remember our position in relation to our husbands. Since we are African, we should not adopt foreign cultures simply because we live within those communities. We are called to respect, submit to, and care for our husbands, cooking, washing and carrying out all the duties expected of an African wife.

🔸The Scriptures clearly teach: "Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord" (Ephesians 5:22). "For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church" (Ephesians 5:23). "Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands" (Ephesians 5:24). Therefore, a wife is to honor and respect her husband.

🔸At the same time, this instruction comes with a command for husbands: "Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her" (Ephesians 5:25). Husbands are also to love their wives as their own bodies. This is the marital order God has established, wives submit to their husbands, and husbands love their wives with a self‑sacrificing love, just as Christ loved the church.
