The second issue of CONSULAR UPDATE just went out today. It’s a slow holiday week. But if you want stay on top of consular processing in the new year, subscribe here: https://t.co/WvuyjCQYNn
I've been blown away by being able to see the data in real time. Now, you can subscribe to our free weekly consular processing newsletter: https://t.co/mFrv3llEEl. It'll come with commentary from me as well as key takeaways from data and trends we're seeing.
We’ve just launched CONSULAR UPDATE, a free weekly consular processing newsletter. You can subscribe here: https://t.co/LIBvJU6LrT
We have a lot more content planned, but here’s a preview of what you’ll get every week—
This week, we’re seeing substantial increases in processing times for Brussels and Ashgabat, and a substantial decrease in Lisbon.
On the appointment wait time front, we’re seeing increases in Hyderabad, Abidjan, Melbourne, and Kathmandu. And decreases in Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi (though the wait times in all of those locations are still high). Multiple locations in Brazil have reported decreases in the wait times for Visitor visas.
It’s been interesting working with (self-imposed) restrictive design constraints. I will eventually need to refactor and expand the design system for @factpattern, but my initial take is going further than I expected.
Will have an interesting update on this later today. We’ve spent the past week seeing processing movements in real time. Movements in Lisbon and Brussels are the most eye catching today.
To keep you better aware of how long posts are expecting processing to take, we’ve added a list of the latest processing and wait time changes to Consular Intelligence, updated daily.
Non-immigrant visa processing and wait times provide a signal on the overall state of a post. When you see a significant increase or decrease that could reflect application load or availability of staff.
By checking the latest changes before filing your application at particular post, you may be able to avoid delays and get your client’s visa approved faster.

Working on taking advantage of the consular data we’ve been gathering over the past 6 months to create a free mini-product (and a dashboard for our paid product)—
Here's some Consular Intelligence: The US Consulate in Toronto is restricting reschedules on L-2s and has been for at least two months (I've checked every day). Thumbs down.
I’ve been working on a passion project for a little while. I deal with visa processing issues all the time and the State Dept websites have always been a problem.
The sheer number of things that can go wrong with US visa processing is astounding. I just got someone rejected from an appt because the CGI system merged accounts and used an old DS-160 number on the appt confirmation.
