Right-wingers are claiming that American scientists are being picked off. They point to 11 cases of killings or disappearances in recent years, and suggest this all might be part of a shadowy conspiracy involving aliens, UFOs, or a foreign adversary.

I looked into it for @unherd

Here are some of the "scientists" that make their list:

-A conspiracy theorist with no published papers who thought she was being attacked by directed energy weapons. She claimed to have made breakthroughs in "antigravity technology", though this is not an accepted branch of science

-A 78-year-old man who worked at Los Alamos and had been retired for almost a decade

-An administrator at Los Alamos. Not even a scientist, an administrator.

-A pharmaceutical scientist who had a Pentagon contract (this is all supposed to be related to UFOs and alien technology, so I don't know why you would even include him. But he was connected to the Pentagon!)

-A guy who was shot, with a suspect that was already arrested and has also been charged with other crimes

-A 61-year-old man who is reported to have died. There's been no reporting that he was murdered. He just died, so right-wing media put him on their list.

Fox News has been obsessed with this story. They asked the White House, which now says it's looking into it. Congressmen have said this is all too much to be a coincidence.

But nobody has bothered to check the most basic facts. They're all out there, and yet Fox News, NY Post, and Daily Mail have been hyping this story up.

You should lower your estimation of anyone who has been pushing this narrative.

I was rendered anorgasmic because once you say you could be trans, that's a full stop -- no exploration as to why is allowed, even if you are struggling.

The former president of WPATH, Dr Marcy Bowers, the California surgeon who had performed the surgery for Jazz Jennings at 17, admitted on video that puberty blockers, followed by cross sex hormones, results in no orgasms and stunted genitals. SB, 934 guarantees that more people will end up like me, the walking but wounded.

I could have been spared all of this, if any of my therapists would have explored why I felt dysphoric. But they never did. They only led me to hate my body more.

The Supreme Court just ruled in a rare bipartisan decision that laws like this are unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination. This bill is an attempted workaround that will be used to silence therapists who could have helped me avoid the irreversible harms to my body and the loss of my sexual function as is the same for many others. So today, I ask you to extend some empathy to survivors like me and vote no for this bill."
