We Nigerians have become experts at normalizing abnormal things 🚨. Things that should never be accepted, we just adapt and act like it’s normal. But it’s NOT.

It amazes me how some people are completely comfortable with constantly receiving, yet never pause to think about giving back.

I give because it’s in my nature, it brings me joy. But let’s be clear, giving doesn’t mean I’m blind or foolish.

There comes a point where one-sided generosity becomes draining, and let’s be honest, selfishness isn’t just unfair, it’s exhausting.

I work hard for everything I have. So if you can’t match energy with gratitude, or give back in your own way, then 🤔

Boundaries are healthy. Reciprocity is respect.

I agree. I thinkthe loudest voices in feminism seem detached from the real struggles of everyday women, no kids especially those who’ve carried the weight of life, labor, and sacrifice. That’s why many still value submission, not out of weakness, but in response to a man who truly provides, protects, and leads with love.

It’s not that women shouldn’t work while pregnant, many do, out of necessity. But let’s be honest: any man who insists on his pregnant partner hustling like she’s not growing a whole human inside her lacks empathy. If more men truly understood the physical and emotional toll of pregnancy, they’d stop with the ‘what do you bring to the table?’ rhetoric and start showing up as partners, not taskmasters.

I think a better way Neto could have phrased it is: marry a man with prospects. Pay attention to the kind of friends he keeps and the circles he moves in, are they driven, resourceful, doing well? Because in life, no one plans for misfortune, but the right network can make all the difference when it hits.
