KUMASI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FACTS ✅️

KUMASI AIRPORT WAS DECLARED INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN 2003 UNDER PREZ KUFFOUR.

According to sources, the land was not too good so the runway was dangerous for bigger planes to land. President Kufour knowing this decided to upgrade the airport to international standard by working on the runway. British Embassy then created office in Kumasi so they'll not have to go to Accra for VISA.

In 2014 Mahama expanded the runway and installed aeronautical lights as Phase 1 amist a corruption scandal.

However, the funding and starting of Phase 2 and Phase 3 which entails building of this beautiful terminal happened in 2018 and 2019 under Nana Addo.

This adds to the many aviation investments by the NPP:
•Terminal 3 (completed in 2017)
•Kumasi International Airport (Started in 2018)
•Tamale International Airport
•Sunyani Airport (closed in 2015 reopened in 2021)
•Ho Airport (Started 2018, Completed in 2021)
•1st Private Jet Terminal in Ghana at KIA.
•Kotaka International Airport special repair facility.
•E-Gates.
•Ghana card for travel.
