🧵The Superstar and the Ballot: The Ethics of the Artistic Megaphone
The intersection of artistic brilliance and political activism has long been a flashpoint for debate, but few cases illustrate this tension as vividly as that of the Ethiopian superstar #TeddyAfro. (1/14)

A war monger ( Hadley Laura Gamble) :
👉 They starved you .
👉 They are killing you.
👉 What’s the point of being the biggest Arab military if it isn’t used to bomb #Ethiopia.
I mean the FM had shown a tremendous restraint while she was pressuring him to declare war just right there in the interview.
Not only her offensive words but also her tone, eye rolling , facial expression & gestures tell a volume about her hatred to #Ethiopia.
You wonder :) what’s Ethiopia’s fault to deserve a war , after all? 👇🏾👇🏾

I just want to understand how some of these so called “journalists” sleep at night @_HadleyGamble
Are war mongering agents ever held accountable in the world of journalism? @Ethical_News and who governs this?
Core Principles
Most professional codes, such as the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics, are built on foundational values: [1]
•Seek Truth and Report It: Verify facts, check sources, and never intentionally distort information.
•Minimize Harm: Show compassion for vulnerable subjects and respect private grief.
•Act Independently: Avoid conflicts of interest, corruption, and political or financial influence from advertisers.
•Be Accountable: Acknowledge mistakes quickly, issue prominent corrections, and invite public criticism. [1, 2]
So, what is the remedy that you may suggest ? Is not it that burning $2.2 Bs to defend a non - market rate is actually another form of subsidy of cheap dollars for some select buyers at the expense of the national balance sheet ? Hope they change the course soon before burning more & more billions in the futile effort.
Status quo ? Agreed. The current arrangement appears reasonable and workable for many. At the same time, political leaders from Oromia might usefully explore the possibility of establishing their regional capital elsewhere. Concentrating too many sensitive functions in one place can create unnecessary risks & burdons to Addis Ababa (ፊንፊኔ) . More broadly, Ethiopian politicians across all regions and communities would do well to move beyond zero-sum thinking that treats resources and institutions as exclusive possessions. Ethiopia is large enough to accommodate everyone, and it belongs equally to all its citizens, irrespective of ethnicity, region, or religion. A shared focus on economic development offers the most constructive path forward for the country as a whole.
What a hypocrisy! You (@msayMekonnen ) . Please don’t mix your youtube channel (Anchor) with a real media . Regardless, you have been using it to mis & disinform your gullible viewers. I understand that you are trying to earn a living for yourself. You have to do it with responsibility , though!
The “?!” punctuation in the title is deliberate, framing the line as a rhetorical question to signal that their arrival is certainly impossible. Throughout the poem, the text systematically dismantles this hope, satirizing those holding out for their arrival and urging them to abandon such a naive expectation.
