I agree with that. Can’t be American and hate America. Especially if you immigrated here by choice. And I guess it is natural to be frustrated at any policy that undermined the American people or needs. The problem is the gov does that better than any group of people. And getting mad at the brown guy who doesn’t support ICE is illogical. Instead there are many “Americans” who can “Assimilate” as “White” America with all sorts of other backgrounds and agendas that are invisible to the public that are more threatening and in positions of authority and influence. Amedeo didn’t Naturalize he was part of an occupying power and no Italian ruled in Ethiopia for a decade. There was a 5 year occupation and Amedeo wasn’t there for even the entire part of it. But I digress.

America built a system of immigration that includes naturalization of people who come from all over the world. It seems you are only bothered by certain types of people who naturalize from certain parts of the world.

Pretty sure, unless you’re Native American, your family came from somewhere and that is where your ethnicity is rooted.

FYI if Amadeo or anyone else naturalized and gained citizenship in Ethiopia now or at any point in history, he would be considered an ethnic Italian who happens to be an Ethiopian national.

The premise of his argument to Piers was that the comparison of his ancestral grievances against the Vikings with black Americans regarding slavery was like apples to oranges because black Americans TODAY can literally point to family members who were actually and factually enslaved. He used his own personal lineage by pointing at how his own great grandparents were born slaves.

Again his grandfather was born in 1882 after the abolition of slavery but his GREAT Parents were born during slavery. Why are yall trying so hard to refute this? Are you in denial that there was slavery? Or just pressed to make the point that unless you were born a slave your life is not at all impacted by slavery?

Are you under some delusion that African Americans just suddenly became equal and were given the same rights, opportunities and privileges of white Americans? Or even European naturalized citizens in the 20th century? Are we just to rewrite history to argue against anyone who supports reparations?

The point was Slavery wasn’t as long ago as you may think or want ti believe. Neither was Jim crow, or the black codes, or poll taxes, or the civil rights act.

Didn’t watch the Tucker Analysis but it’s definitely worth doing your own research for why U.S. relations with the Middle East and primarily Iran are the way they are today.
