The size/height of the dome for a proposed development of an Ethiopian Orthodox Church in a Las Vegas neighborhood (west wind rd) made news a couple of days ago.

Reps of the Ethiopian church expressed their intention to work with the concerned neighbors and cut the dome size down to half of the original proposed height but some residents still had reservations. One such resident is seen in this news report saying he’s concerned that these Ethiopians aren’t “assimilating” and should perhaps aim to “look” like the other churches in the area.

He also said the size of the church makes him fear that the church will make his neighborhood become “the neighborhood of the church” instead of just “a church in the neighborhood”

- I pray they succeed and the neighborhood accept the blessing of the church that’s coming to them.
