Dear Mr. @RahulGandhi needed your attention towards something very important.

My heartfelt appreciation for the effort you put in to register an FIR for an injury sustained by the firing of pellets in Delhi recently.

BUT

May I with all the humility at my command beg to ask that why the same effort was not used when pellets were fired in Kashmir on many occasions.

Thankfully the injury inflicted in Delhi was minor. Comparatively Kashmir has a horrendous record of blindings and fatal injuries due to pellets.

Between 2016 and 2017, the then J&K Government reported 6,221 people injured by pellet firing, including 782 people with eye injuries.
Hundreds lost their eyesight and were blinded for life, with permanent visual impatient. Thousands were disabled permanently because of gruesome injuries.

In 2010, there was unrest in the Kashmir valley, and pellets were used for the first time.
There were injuries and blindings. Dozens were blinded and hundreds were injured, causing severe permanent disability.

My question is.
Why was the same concern not shown for those Kashmiris who were blinded or grievously injured.

Are Kashmiris less human than others in this country. I would say. It is still not too late.
You can come here and talk about it and even try to register an FIR. This would at least put focus on those forgotten pellet victims.

NC and PDP were the local parties in alliance with national parties during 2016 and 2010 pellet blindings. The Home department under them. Incidentally both NC and PDP are part of the INDIA alliance.
Till date there has not been even an apology from these two parties.

Please do not attribute any motives.
My hand on my heart, I really want you to do well.
But I believe that people of Kashmir deserve that you come here and show the same concern for pellet victims as you have shown in Delhi.

It is time to send a message to all.
The Kashmiris are not lesser human beings.

Let law be the same for all.
Let there be no space for selective justice and
let us not allow our own people to be tyrannised.

CM Sahab has himself approved the proposal for a five percent hike in power tariff .

In a communique submitted by the PDD to Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC), it is clearly stated that the Hon’ble CM (In-charge Minister, PDD) approved the proposal for a 5% tariff hike. The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission finally raised it to 6.83%.

Today’s power tariff hike means an additional burden of more than Rs 500 crore on consumers, who have been helplessly waiting for 200 units of free electricity for the past two years.

CM Sahab himself had promised 200 units of free electricity to people of J&K.

People in Jammu and Kashmir will now have to pay more from their pockets for electricity. The regulator has approved a 6.83% hike in power tariff and says it has avoided a tariff shock. It is definitely a shock for those who were promised 200 units free in 2024 by the ruling party.

Almost two years have passed and till date not a single rupee worth of benefit in terms of free power has been passed on to the consumers. Not only that. Load has been increased in non metered areas, which has increased the monthly bill.

Congratulations to the people of Rajwar. Water gushing into the reservoir at Lach. Finally we have added capacity of water after more than fifty years.

The last time water was supplied through this location, it was during the tenure of Lone Sahib as MLA in mid seventies.

Thanks to the PHE department. They worked hard and ensured supply of funds even during the governor rule when funds dried out.

Exactly a year ago, I was in conversation with @sajadlone about the question of statehood. He made precisely the same point: the Supreme Court left unanswered the most consequential legal question: was the downgrading of a State into a Union Territory constitutionally permissible or impermissible?

If the Court had upheld it, the precedent could haunt every State in the country. If it had struck it down, the constitutional pathway to restoring our statehood would have been clear. But the Court left the central question hanging.

Sajad Sahib had even told me that he would write to former CJI D Y Chandrachud and ask him to clarify, now that he is no longer on the Court, whether the downgrading was constitutionally valid or not.

I hope Sajad Sahib writes that letter now.

Because, ultimately, the question of our statehood rests on the answer to this unanswered constitutional question.

Privy 1st person to most of what @sajadlone reveals here I don't have to be an adherent of his politics to reiterate some of the sad truths he mentioned today. Yes, Marhoom Lone Sb was one of the 1st subjected to untold misery, torture & pre-determined humiliation by then HM Mufti Sb's scorched earth Kashmir policy. Though George Fernandes Mufti's cabinet colleague in VP Singh Govt vehemently opposed it. Body-cuffed from head to toe, in a sweltering Jodhpur cell in 1990, I vividly remember Mufti Sb wasn't moved a bit by Lone Sb's personal exhortation conveyed to him through a senior police official; NOT for release but only for a more HUMANE treatment in jail. As I then understood it within, it had apparently more to do with Mufti Sb's latent spillover of past bitterness & dislike vis-a-vis Lone Sb's person, indeed an insecurity he seemed to carry from a long past era. Mufti Sb was NEVER the one to forgive and forget.

Having been through it all & from my own travails & based on my first person experience I find it hard to disagree with Sajad Lone's refrain that the tyrant playing victim defies comprehension, logic and honesty all at once? It is an affront to the average Kashmiri's common sense to even suggest that lesser mortals like Sajad or one as deprived as me (in a different context) could ever tyranize a tyrant! But then agency Czar AS Dulat's schooling in the smokescreen of deceit and cunning were & remain the PDP's foremost foundational operating principles. Kashmiris lucky to have escaped the infamous pellet blinding of 2016 can indeed plump for this propaganda but only at their own PERIL yet again. @JKPCOfficial

APOLOGY SEASON

If there is indeed an apology season, isn’t an apology due for many more events.

Apology for trying to lie through the teeth by claiming the video to be AI generated.

Apology for collaborating with BJP for a rescue plan.

Apology for Doodh-Toffee remark,
Apology for blinding hundreds with pellets,
Apology for those killed in 2016,
Apology for detaining hundreds under PSA,
Apology for the bloodbath in 1990 during the home ministry tenure of Mufti sahib.
Apology for introduction of AFSPA during the home ministry tenure of Mufti sahib. AFSPA is a law till date.

And please do not demean and undermine the institution of apology.
The apology rendered today did not even remotely resemble an apology. Apology demands humility and humbleness.

And please stop using word mother.
Mothers don’t blind children. Mothers don’t lock up children under PSA.
Stop dehumanising the sacred institution of motherhood.

Saddened by the fire incident at Golipora Rajwar. Recently two houses were gutted in Krumhora and now another family has suffered a devastating loss.

Rajwar urgently needs a Fire & Emergency Services station. I request @manojsinha_ sahib to please take it up on priority. There is a gain a similar demand and equally important in Trathpora.

IN DEFENCE OF THE INSTITUTION OF MLA

My thanks to party colleagues who made today’s protest a success. We will do what it takes to ensure that the institution of MLA is not disempowered or humiliated.

Losing with grace is perhaps the best indicator of how dignified is the party or the person that has lost.

We are yet to see that dignity or grace. If anything almost on a daily basis attempts are made to negate the people’s verdict.

This is another version of 1987 rigging. This is the administrative version of stealing an election.

Reliving history. A trip down the history lane.

As a son in 1989, I made the customary graduation day walk on the stage and my father watched. And in 2026 my son Mohammed Emad Gani Lone made the customary graduation day walk on the stage and I watched. Last year my other son Mohammed Adnan Gani Lone made the same walk.

As we grow older, we reminisce and romanticise those younger days of youth. And as we raise our sons and daughters we realise the sacrifices that our fathers and mothers rendered while raising us. We become true sons and daughters, when we become parents.

Today as Emad walked on the stage, I felt it was me walking on the stage. And I was searching for my father, in the crowds. I could not find him. And I had to be content being a father.

And then it dawned on me. Fathers may die but fatherhood never dies. Fatherhood is a rare constant across generations. And that defines the circularness of life

A commemorative gathering was held at the ancestral residence of Kh. Mohd Sultan Pandithpori Sahib in Pandithpora on his first death anniversary, where party leaders, workers, and well-wishers came together to pay tribute to his remarkable legacy of public service and leadership.
The event was attended by JKPC Vice President Ab Gani Vakil, Chief Spokesperson Adv. Bashir Ahmad Dar, DP Hafizullah Mir, Provincial President Irfan Sultan Pandithpori, senior party leaders, and workers who fondly remembered his contributions and reaffirmed their commitment to carrying forward his vision.
