George finally speaking up about his 2026 season so far!

“I did go through race by race this season and concluded we've only had six races from the 20 where we've had a clean weekend. So to think, 14 weekends there's been issues, is unbelievable.”

“Going back as early as China, I pulled the clutch half a second too early in the qualifying, which led to my car breaking down. Should we have known about that? Maybe yes. Maybe not. Then in Japan, doing the upshift at the exact same time as I clicked another button...

...on the steering wheel...Should we have known about that? Maybe yes. Maybe not.”

In Budapest, Russell said he went “five centimetres wide” on a kerb, which led to his engine breaking and resulting in a penalty later in the season.

“I do believe it has just been bad luck, but we can't just be content in saying it's bad luck because that would be foolish...bad luck once, twice, three times, but 14 out of 20 races seems a bit much.”
