Welcome to Casa Orgánica, the home of architect Javier Senosiain in Naucalpan de Juárez.
Senosiain is one of Mexico’s foremost voices in organic architecture, a practice rooted in the belief that built space and the natural world should be inseparable.
Completed in 1984 as his own family residence, Casa Orgánica was conceived from the shape of a peanut shell. It consists of two flowing oval spaces, one for living and one for resting, connected by a curved passageway built in ferro-cement. There are no straight lines and no hard edges, only surfaces that shift seamlessly from wall to floor to ceiling. A living green roof makes the house nearly invisible from above.

Finland has ordered Google to stop data center work after more than 740 acres of forest were cleared, with the orders covering two planned sites in Muhos and Kajaani and following concerns about forest clearing and incomplete environmental assessments.
More than 740 acres of forest were cleared at the Muhos site, according to the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation, which raised concerns that areas deserving protection had been felled and called for work to stop while environmental requirements were examined. Authorities said preparatory work included removing trees and topsoil, building roads and storage areas, and altering ditches, and the Finnish Supervisory Agency said work at one site proceeded without a mandatory environmental impact assessment.
Activities that significantly change the environment must stop by October 23 at the latest, and the suspension will remain in place until the required assessments are completed. Tuike Finland, the company behind Google’s projects, has been asked to explain its actions and outline its plans by October 14, and authorities warned that enforcement proceedings could follow if it failed to comply.
Google acknowledged that it had “fallen short of our own high standards in this instance” and said it would follow the agency’s guidance. The company said it had acted in good faith under Finland’s Forestry Act, conducted nature surveys, and taken steps to protect environmentally valuable areas, and its landscaping plans include planting trees across roughly 320 acres at Muhos.
The projects form part of Google’s planned $15 billion investment in Finland over 2027 and 2028, described as its largest single investment in Europe, and the facilities would support services including Search, Maps, and Gemini. Finland attracts data center developers with its cool climate and low-carbon electricity, since lower temperatures can reduce the energy needed to cool server equipment. The orders suspend preparatory work; they do not cancel the projects.
