For those who don’t know, Dr. Bawumia was member of the Tamasco Table Tennis Team, playing for the Wemah House.

I am currently at Harvard University, where I am participating in the Harvard Ministerial Program as a Faculty Member.

This engagement is particularly meaningful, having first participated in the programme in 2017 during my tenure as Minister for Education, and subsequently receiving the Ministerial Medal of Achievement in 2020 in recognition of the work undertaken to reposition the Ministry and successfully implement the Free Senior High School policy.

It is a privilege to return, once again, as a Faculty Member for the second time, sharing Ghana’s experience, particularly the implementation of Free SHS, as a practical case study for government officials from across the world.

The Free Senior High School policy reflects more than a commitment to expand access to education. It represents the discipline, structure, and clarity of leadership required to translate national promises into sustained and meaningful outcomes.

It is my hope that this engagement contributes to ongoing conversations on leadership and public policy, and supports fellow participants in strengthening delivery within their respective countries.
