I’m sorry but a team that’s been performing (and performed) as bad as Real Betis should NOT come down to refereeing decisions sealing the fate.

Real Madrid missed 7 big chances (3.17 xG), had double amount of shots (20-10) but Courtois was forced in 4 saves v Valles 6.

Inability to control difference game-states, bad judgment from the coach and players, inability to up the gears because they’re so physically wore down due to terrible preparations by Pintus (who somehow is shoe-horned into every coaches staff) are key reasons why you lost.

Shot enough times. Created enough (or more than) big chances. Couldn’t get hold of the middle because your pivots run away from the ball, your best on-ball progressive player is Dean Huijsen and you don’t address those in any way shape or form - you will simply lose.

How was this match different than others we have lost? Or two trophyless seasons in a row will always be result of bad refereeing and nobody will ever be held accountable for ACTUAL issues we see on the pitch?

La Liga referees are bad, but not just for Real Madrid - every team, one way or another is hurt by them and you have to live with it.

PSG does not have a natural number 9 but the front 3 rotate positions. Even with Ferran now, they still rotate positions.

Barca do not have a natural number 9 but they also rotate.

Bayern, even with Kane as a number 9, always rotate positions.

France national team does rotations easily and fluidly.

But when you come to Madrid, a player must play in his favourite position before he gets a good game and when another goes to that position he is said to be occupying someone's position??🤦

This is why we are so predictable in attack. The opps know exactly where to find our guys.

Imagine if our front 2 or 3, depending on formation, rotate positions every time we attack.

Do you know how dangerous we will become? How unpredictable? The opps will have a headache because everyone in our attack has a dangerous profile.

It really is sad hearing fans say "Mbappe is occupying Vinis position" "Mbappe must stay central the balls will come" "Mbappe must stay in the box"

That is a limiting thought process.

Some of just do not know ball and want to cover for a player's deficiencies.
