Moreover even if Islam managed to align its version of politicised Islam with the west, the backlash by a young generation Christians who are finding the doctrine underpinning support for Israel to be problematic should serve as a warning that this will be case with Palestine too

2. People on the left searching for a religion who gravitate towards Islam because they find Christinaity to be a 'rightwing religion', and find that politicised Islam with its emphasis on the Palestine issue, dovetails perfectly with their worldview

Islam is under assault from two forces;

1. Authorities and later terrorists who militarised Islam and have used the Palestine issue as currency to fuel their policies, cause and recruitment drives in so doing laying the groundwork for politicized Islam
