Sulong Chalil is a wild male Asian elephant from the Kampung Chalil area of Gua Musang, Kelantan. He had reportedly been entering villages and crossing roads in the area, which led to reports being made to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN). To reduce the risk of human–elephant conflict, PERHILITAN subsequently carried out a translocation operation, moving him to a more suitable habitat in Gerik, Perak.
However, despite being relocated, Sulong has reportedly been seen moving slowly in the direction of his original range, apparently with an injured leg. His situation is a reminder that translocation is not simply a matter of moving an animal from one place to another. Elephants have complex social structures, strong spatial memory and established knowledge of their home ranges, including food and water sources and traditional routes.
This is also why coexistence and respect for wildlife matter. Elephants do not enter human settlements because they are deliberately trying to cause trouble, increasingly, human development, roads, agriculture and habitat fragmentation can bring people and wildlife into the same spaces. At the same time, elephants are powerful wild animals, so people must keep a safe distance and avoid provoking, feeding, chasing or attempting to approach them.
We need to understand that their habitat is their home too. Conservation is not about choosing elephants over people, but finding ways for both humans and wildlife to exist as safely as possible. That means protecting remaining elephant habitat and movement corridors, managing development responsibly, improving early-warning and conflict-mitigation measures, and allowing wildlife authorities to handle dangerous encounters.
Sulong’s story should therefore not simply be viewed as “a troublesome elephant that was relocated”. It is also a reminder of what happens when human spaces and wildlife territories increasingly overlap. Respect the animal, respect its space, and let trained authorities handle the situation. Coexistence begins with recognising that we share this land with wildlife, and that they have a right to survive in it too.
An injured male elephant has drawn public attention after travelling more than 140km along the East-West Highway in Gerik, apparently on his way back to his original habitat in Gua Musang, Kelantan.
The elephant, dubbed Sulong, is believed to be the same animal previously relocated to Gerik by Perhilitan.

this speech is amazing, I've never seen a (ex) KPOP idol address the issue with such clarity, like, ever. Her wording leaves no room for misinterpretion. This woman is so strong for so many reasons.

@x4vrl we should care less about their weight. let they gain or loss weight. most people put much attention on the appearance rather than their talent.
@xqybaa I want that kind of romcom too. There is one cdrama call fake till you make it that has the mature slice of life vibe. The dialogue is good and heart warming no second lead. Just fl and ml going through life figuring out relationships and career.
Tu dia. Sial!
