I'm not saying that it's not a great feature, just that everything comes with a risk and users should be aware of that.

@SasuRobert What happens when the tx is sent with too much gas? If I'm correct, the tx passes but all the gas is used. Does the dApp receive all the gas in such case? Doesn't it incetivize shady dApps?

@SasuRobert Is there really no way for the protocol to nit rely on the gas set in the transaction? The node could say - I will take as many transactions as I can from this list and what is left will be in the next block. The gas limit could stay as the top limit only.
