tw sa i related to holden deeply but i absolutely hate this book because people who have made no effort to get help think it’s the greatest book ever written. At a certain point you need to realize it’s not okay to be horrible to everyone you know just because you’re traumatized

Rlly interesting to me how much Catcher in the Rye is about how the experience of rape and grief as a teenager can fundamentally alter your worldview and turn you into a hostile, unlikeable person. Very affecting book.
