Welcome to The Business Layer
The majority of L1s have been focused towards being the "foundation of Web3"
Theres a small handful building toward the "foundation of the 4th Industrial Revolution"
$HBAR $ALGO $CSPR are perfect examples of multi purposed L1s
🧵Let's begin→
Each of these 3 Layer 1s much like 90% of their kind, all run on Proof of Stake
But here's the catch, they've all added their own spin upon the traditional PoS for an augmentation!
$HBAR brings gossip about gossip through their Hashgraph consensus
Gossip travels exponentially
We've all seen how fast a little rumour can spread around a high school
The Hashgraph node communication for consensus works the same way
-Node 1 & 2 gossip about TX's they've seen
-Node 1 & Node 2 now know same info
-Node 1 all its info with Node 3
-Node 2 is doing the same sharing with Node 4
-Node 3 then discusses with Node 19
In this example Node 19 would have all the information from every other Node in here
All while only having talked with Node 3, thanks to the power of gossip
Additionally their network is not traditionally decentralized through the community
Rather its decentralized around the world through big institutional/enterprise validators
From Google & IBM in the US, to DBS & LG in Asia, to even EDF & Ubisoft in EU and many more
The Hashgraph brings enterprise grade decentralization in an unprecedented manner
$ALGO deploys randomness in their improvement titled, Pure Proof of Stake
Simply put this enables everybody with at least 1 $ALGO the Algorand economy to participate
No dedicated validators. No fixed committees.
This is a much simpler solution to assist with the ecosystem security, scalability & decentralization
You could argue its the most "pure" form of PoS
Because the adoption of Algorand will directly impact and strengthen the network overall
As more $ALGO users/hodlers = stronger network
These verifiers are chosen randomly for every block
It allows for much less compute resources & active members thus achieving higher scalability
Thanks to the use of verifiable random functions (VRFs) founded by $ALGO Founder & MIT Prof, Silvio Micali
They have integrated the use of VRFs in every step of their consensus
This randomness helps ensure that the ones being chosen aren't compromised by hackers
It's like trying to unlock a key to a lock, only the keyhole to this lock changes every second
And the $ALGO network only responds to when both the keyhole and key are matching...
Which is selected thru their VRF capabilities
The Pure Proof of Stake model brings a unique approach to randomness bringing further security and scalability to the network
Which makes sense, given these VRFs we see across blockchains today, were all invented by the same man who created Algorand
$CSPR utilizes a DAG based architecture for their consensus titled "Highway Protocol"
This is Casper's spin at building upon the traditional Proof of Stake model
Which they've actually used parts of Ethereum's initial research to build upon Proof of Stake
The research by $ETH Foundation researcher Vlad Zamfir titled CBC-Casper's laid the way for Highway
In simple terms, this is what CBC-Casper enables
-Network will be consistent with decisions
-Network will eventually reach finality
The "tech terms" for these are safe & live respectively
But $CSPR went 1 step further & built specific upgrades to CBC-Casper that would best fit enterprises
Here's what they added
1. Dynamic Finality
This may kinda sound cool, and it is kinda cool
Because through dynamic finality capabilities, Casper is able to have different thresholds of having the network finalize decisions
In simple terms, this makes it so that the more honest acting nodes there are, the faster finality is reached
Straightforward & makes logical sense right?
2. Flexible Finality
This plays directly into everything we just mentioned about dynamic flexibility
As this brings all the more customization to how Highway secures the network
The importance of speed & security vary on the transactions & Casper understands this
-Smaller TXs to execute smart contracts will prioritize instant finality with less top end security
-Larger TXs for high value transfers will prioritize top end security & less instant finality
And this is how Highway's nodes are structured to react to
Some nodes will be focused towards smaller valued transactions & some will be toward larger transactions
$CSPR Highway brings a much needed dynamic and variable feature to blockchain finality
It's like in legacy finance where we have both a low value payment system & high value payment system
Now this is just how their consensus models operate, as we can see they already show enterprise level considerations
But the exciting part is really in their ecosystem
Here are 3 exciting aspects happening in each network from the govt & enterprise level!
I'll quickly summarize these, but I HIGHLY suggest you look further into some of them yourself
As these are all proving real world blockchain utilities
$HBAR
Atma- Built by governing member Avery Dennison, atma serves as a digital ID platform for everyday products
Dropp- Application for quick and secure micropayments used within US Fed's FedNow ISO20022 program
Acoer- Tracing supply chain of healthcare pharmaceuticals to provide immutable data of pharma drugs conditions/locations
___________
$ALGO
SIAE- Italian major copyright collecting agency uses Algorand for digital copyright NFTs for creators
PlanetWatch- CERN backed program for environmental monitoring service thru a network of air quality sensors for data on improving air quality
Bank of Italy- The Banca d'Italia has chosen Algorand to be its public blockchain for digital sureties within Bank of Italy's banking & insurance markets
___________
$CSPR
ChengDu Chain- BSN China has integrated Casper into their "China Chain" to utilize a pub/perm model of Casper to be deployed as ChengDu's smart city chain
IPwe- Through utilizing Hyperledger Fabric, IBM Weaver & Casper, IPwe aims to tokenize 25+ mil patents on-chain for new market utilities
Nucleus Finance- A FinTech application enabling tokenized financial contracts across legacy & DLT, built under the ACTUS standard (ISO20022)
___________
Again these are just a FEW examples of enterprise purposed applications on these enterprise ready chains
As I've been saying all along... not all L1's were built equal
These 3, along with a handful of others clearly have laid the connections early on to enable operations of this scale to be built in their ecosystem
From supply chains, banking & general finance, ESG, intellectual property & even smart cities...
🏁The proof of real world DLT utilities have begun
