Babu Owino is not a smart politician. I think Rigathi Gachagua is interested in the Nairobi governor’s seat. If Babu falls out with Sifuna, Rigathi could turn to the Luhya community and position the DCP for the governorship. The Kikuyu community has been eyeing that seat.

Babu Owino should play it safe with Sifuna. Bure, Opondo, Kaluma, Raymond Omollo, and Junet Mohamed are all waiting for this fallout to deal with Babu. He needs to be careful.

Those claiming Edwin Sifuna lacks the experience to lead Kenya may not be questioning his ability at all; many are reacting to the uncomfortable reality that his rise has disrupted their political calculations and exposed the declining relevance of the old political order.

Sifuna carries God’s anointing and the gift of wisdom. He has consistently sought God’s guidance, and his leadership reflects courage, clarity and conviction. Experience should never be measured merely by the number of years someone has occupied public office, especially when those years have produced little for the people.

Leading Kenya is not complicated: respect the rule of law, remain faithful to the Constitution, obey the Public Finance Management Act, protect public resources and value every human life. These are the principles that define the leadership Sifuna represents.

Those insisting that he is “not experienced enough” can already see that their time on the political stage is ending. Sifuna ameharibu hesabu zao za kuendelea kuwadanganya Wakenya kila mara. He represents a new generation that is informed, fearless and no longer willing to inherit the failures of the past.
