"Que dure lo que tenga que durar. Que dure meses, días o años, que dure una vida entera, que dure la eternidad, que dure un segundo, que dure un susurro pero que sea contigo".
~ Mario Benedetti
ONE TEACHING, THREE DOORS INTO EMPTINESS ☸️
Emptiness in the Buddhist teachings is not a cold Void where nothing matters. It is the discovery that nothing exists alone, permanently, or as a fixed self.
In Theravada Buddhism, emptiness invites us to look within and find that body, feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and consciousness are empty of "me" and "mine." What seems to be a solid person is a changing stream of conditions.
Mahayana Buddhism opens the vision wider. Not only the person, but all phenomena are empty of independent existence. Everything arises through causes, conditions, relationships, and names. A flower contains sunlight, rain, soil, and the whole earth.
Zen brings this Truth into immediate experience. Instead of holding emptiness as an idea, it asks us to meet this breath, this sound, this cup of tea - without dividing life into self and other. The empty bowl is useful precisely because it can receive.
The Buddhist traditions differ in language, emphasis, and method, yet each loosens the same ancient grasping: the wrong belief that things possess an unchanging essence that can be owned and defended.
Emptiness does not make life less sacred. It reveals that every life is woven into every other life.
When nothing stands alone, compassion becomes the most natural response. 🙏

"El día pasará y la vida seguirá.
Ganarán los mismos,
perderán los de siempre,
y quizás, si eres paciente,
si dejas de correr, y te perdonas;
la vida deje de ser ese autobús
que se escapa justo...
cuando llegas a la parada".
Charles Bukowski
“You are Eternity. You are Fathomless Space. You are the essence of the whole universe. You are the sky, the sun, the moon, the flowers, the animals, the insects, human beings; you're everything. This is your real nature. No one ever dies.”
~ Robert Adams
The Burning House Parable - Why Buddhism Says We Are Asleep ☸️
One of the most powerful teachings in the Lotus Sutra is The Parable of the Burning House.
A wealthy father returns home to find his house engulfed in flames. Inside, his children continue playing with their toys, completely absorbed in amusement and unaware of the danger surrounding them.
They do not realize the house is burning.
The Lotus Sutra uses this image to describe the human condition.
Life is fragile. Aging, illness, loss, and death surround every living being. Yet the mind becomes so distracted by possessions, status, entertainment, desires, and endless pursuits that it rarely pauses to ask deeper questions.
Like children at play, many move through life without noticing the fire.
The Buddha is compared in this parable, to the compassionate father who calls out to those inside, not to frighten them, but to awaken them.
The purpose of Buddhist practice is not to escape the world. It is to wake up within it.
To see clearly what is fleeting and what is truly worth cultivating.
The Burning House reminds us that Awakening begins the moment attention turns away from distraction and towards Wisdom.
The fire may already be burning.
But the door remains open. 🙏

The Third Noble Truth - Why The Buddha Never Taught Hopelessness ☸️
The world today often feels heavy with division and hate. Humanity's situation seems hopeless. Nations rage against nations. Groups and Communities fractured into anger and suspicion against each other. Fear spreads faster than wisdom, and many quietly wonder whether humanity has lost its way entirely.
Yet in the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta from Samyutta Nikaya scripture of The Pali Canon, The Buddha offered something revolutionary: The Third Noble Truth - the Cessation of Suffering.
Not the denial of suffering. Not escape from the world. But the possibility that hatred, greed, and delusion do not have to rule the human heart forever.
The Buddha taught that suffering has causes, and because it has causes, it can also come to an end.
The Third Noble Truth carries immense hope.
A fire continues to burn only while it is being fed. In the same way, conflict survives while the mind clings to craving, identity, fear, and resentment. When the fuel is no longer added, the flames gradually fade into stillness.
The Third Noble Truth reminds humanity that peace is not fantasy. Compassion is not weakness. Awakening is not reserved for another age.
Even in dark times such as these we are currently passing through, the mind can still turn toward wisdom.
And wherever wisdom appears, even briefly, the cycle of suffering begins to loosen its grip upon the world. 🙏

"If karmic evil is deep, all the more aspire for the Land of Bliss. It is said: 'Nor rejecting those who break precepts and whose evil karma is profound.' If your good is slight, think even more on Amida. It is said: 'With but three or five utterances, Amida Buddha comes to welcome us.' Do not meaninglessly despise yourself, weaken your heart, and doubt the Buddha's wisdom, which surpasses conceptual understanding.
Suppose that there is a man at the bottom of a tall cliff unable to climb it, but there is a strong man on the cliff above who lowers a rope and, thinking to have the man at the bottom take hold of it, tells him he will draw him up to the top. However, the man at the bottom holds his arms back and refuses to take the rope, doubting the strength of the man pulling and fearing that the rope is weak. Thus it is altogether impossible for him to climb to the top. If he unhesitatingly followed the man's words, stretched out his hands and grasped the rope, he would be able to climb at once. It is difficult for people who doubt the Buddha's power and who do not entrust themselves to the power of the Vow to climb the cliff of Enlightenment. One should simply put out the hand of trust and take hold of the rope of the Vow.
The Buddha's power is without limits; even the person deeply burdened with karmic evil is never too heavy. The Buddha's wisdom is without bounds; even those whose minds are distracted and self-indulgent are never rejected. The mind of trust alone is essential. There is no need to consider anything else." 🙏
