Hawks CEO Hussain Rifau’s uncle, MNDF Staff Sergeant Aslam Waheed (SN4583) has been released from prison after PG Abbas and Ihusaan striking a multi million MVR deal with the Hawks family.

Aslam Waheed was convicted on multiple serious charges, including assault with sharp objects, kidnapping, producing pornography, theft and obstruction of justice (court cases 600/Cr-C/2026, 601/Cr-C/2026, 602/Cr-C/2026, 603/Cr-C/2026, 665/2026/CRC/231 and LC2025/16368).

He also filmed his wife having sex with another person and used the footage to blackmail them.

On 5 Feb 2026, I publicly detailed all of his crimes including uploading his MNDF suspension slip yet no media outlet reported on the story. At the time I did not know why. Only today, after obtaining the court documents, did I learn that he is the uncle of Hawks CEO Hussain Rifau.

That connection explains the media silence.

In Maldives, members of the Hawks family walk free regardless of the severity of their offences.

Just imagine. Friday is the day when mothers and fathers finally get time to take their children outside to the parks, the beaches, the open spaces of Hulhumale or for a simple drive along the highway. Families laughing, kids running free, parents watching them with quiet relief after a long week.

Now picture this maniac, Hawks CEO Hassan Rifau, ploughing into them. And then what? He walks free. No jail. No punishment. Cause the system protects people like him.
