Here’s something I learned while leaving academia:
If more academics had exposure to the way things are done in other sectors there is no way they would put up with most of the poor treatment they currently do. It would be a much better place for all.
Talking and breathing is very easy until there is a camera. Thanks @LifeCourseAU for seeing the value in my work and providing much needed funding over the past 2 years. I’m applying what I learnt every day at @InfantMelbourne ❤️
Our thoughts are with little Tharunica Murugappan and we wish her a speedy recovery. The AMA is shocked by this further trauma for the Murugappan family and is renewing its call for their release from detention on Christmas Island. https://t.co/qeAFMXf6Lu
If you can, please take a moment to write to @karenandrewsmp[email protected] to tell her whether you approve of your taxes going towards locking up and neglecting 3year olds. #hometobilo
Our new research shows, unsurprisingly, that violence at home impacts children’s mental health, language development and sleep. Important work from @deirdregartland@intergen_health@laurajconway1 https://t.co/5ZkGxdzR9y
Friends,

Ooff, “The most telling statistical outcome from the 2021 GGGI is that Australia ranks equal first for educational attainment among women and girls, but 70th for economic participation and opportunity” https://t.co/eLnz5BGTmv

Govt: "We really want more women in STEM in Australia”
Also Govt: "To show you how committed we are, we’ve made a bloke with unresolved allegations of rape and poor behaviour towards women as your new minister"
For a while I was the mother of a child with a rare disease. Thankfully today he is a thriving 7 year old, but you don’t ever forget. While we got to move on, others don’t, and I still think about that a lot.
Today is Rare Disease Day! Show your support for the rare disease community by retweeting.
An estimated two million Australians live with a rare disease. 300 million people globally live with a rare disease.
